Oil is not cheap, it is subsidized like nothing else on earth. And now this must end. There is no country on earth -- no society -- that has advanced far in terms of wealth or well-being without primarily relying on oil. This thread understands that better than any other. Oil is the blood in our economic veins -- the heart and soul of all industrial societies, here, in Europe, Asia and every corner of the world. It is not exactly obvious how it could be otherwise. The problem is that we are confronted with a challenge -- a challenge that requires us to stop subsidizing oil and move on. We will never move on while oil is cheap -- the problems we face require absorbing the stark reality of life today -- its the price of oil stupid.
