I use Ameritrade and love it. However yesterday I found out that I couldn't buy NETZ over the web I had to use the Ameritrade broker. Instead of $8 I pay $23 commission for using the broker. The problem isn't the $15 its the waiting time on the phone to get the broker. So for other than penny stocks AMeritrade is great.

Matthew,
I use Ameritrade. And am satisfied with them. They did mess up a market order of mine once, but they made good on it based on actual bid/ask at the time I placed the order.

You should be aware, though, that the $8 commissions do not apply to BB stocks like NETZ. For BBs, you have to call (wait on the phone is typically under 3 min.) and that costs $18 - limit order is $5 extra.

Matthew I also use ameritrade and farsight (lets not talk about them right now). I agree with what claylea said the hold times are not good and have had bad luck in getting stock certs through them (caught them in flat out lie). If you do lots of BB stock the only other problem is the online account status is not very accurate for BB stocks and your cash balances are only updated nightly unlike many others.....Other than that they are ok. On amex, nasdaq and nyse they are really good to use.
