Tom, Korea is definitely trying to follow the Japanese model of expansion; don't know if it works without a bubble of a market. What I'm curious about is the differences in economic policy b/t the confucian countries (ie China, Taiwan, Singapore, etc.) and the other Asian economies. ie which have policies that promote the rational allocation of capital, profit-seeking, and all that yabber-jabber. Been too busy, though; just got back from work, for instance, and its damn 11:30. I'd say many of those countries (ie Korea) still have huge infrastructure needs that severely limit their production capacity; probably beats out technological needs for now.
