I think the real fear is that a Greek collapse would start the domino's falling. The euros can probably afford to prop up the Greek domino, but that Italian domino is WAY bigger and heavier than Greece. It's just too big to bail, and if it goes, the Eurozone and maybe the world goes with it. I actually think Berlesconi's recent clownish antics are to deflect attention from Italy's truly horrible fiscal position, over which he has presided.
