From that link I see the older man with the education at 74 on food stamps having lived a productive life and then I see the young woman in her early 20's, who is now learning that we place wants second and needs first. It seems that she is always making poor decisions-------to some extent that is normal for her age group----------it takes a lot of wrong and right decisions to land on your feet.

I do hope that she will have the second child and if she can't financially care for the child place the child with a relative or put the child up for adoption. If she opts for abortion as a possibility, she will then have another choice that will haunt her the rest of her life.

These two stories are not unique in my opinion. Being a listener, I hear a lot stories of people's lives.

I have a very educated friend near Nashville with a partial law degree, a degree in English and who qualifies to be a paralegal. She is about 49, extremely intelligent and can't get a job--------she has applied for everything. I have come to the conclusion that she is being denied work for two reasons either because she is too intelligent or believe it or not too old.

I then have a friend who is 70 retired from CIA and decided to do some evening work for a defense firm answering telephones--------when answering the phone the limit per inquiry was 15 minutes on the phone.

After several months, as she listened to a caller and took notes, she exceeded the 15 minutes by about 5 minutes and was fired by the office manager who is in her late 60's.

The 70 year old friend will be okay------however this intelligent 49 year old woman needs a job. She has avoided government help; however, I don't know how long she will be successful in avoiding such.

This Obama Great Depression sure is depressing.
