>"That's the nature of science, to continually improve the model"

I thought the model was settled science ?

This is the heart of the matter. The AGW crowd is making an astonishing claim: that they have got the whole of earth's climate modeled so well that not only can they use the model to study what has gone on in the past, they can run the model into the future and read off the results. IOW, they claim that none of the simplifying assumptions in their models are significant to the results. They forecast disaster, and claim to be so sure of their results that they insist that the developed world should spend trillions of dollars and significantly harm its economic growth in a radical effort to cut back on carbon emissions.

It should and must be noted that if their dire forecasts are not correct, the billions and billions being spent on lowering carbon emissions are being entirely wasted, as carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. Just the opposite; it is necessary for life to exist on the planet. If it doesn't have any harmful effects on climate (and it doesn't rise to toxic atmospheric levels above 4%, which would be 100x today's levels of about 0.04%) then more carbon dioxide is just more plant food.

It seems to me that the burden of proof needs to lie on those who makes such extraordinary claims. I also think it's fair to notice how much personal profit these people have made and stand to make from their claims, and what political movements have become their allies.
