longnshort, the NEA does politicking, they should lose their tax exempt status

Legally, the NEA can not endorse candidates. However, the Political Action Committees at the Fed, State and local level, can (1) send out questionaires to potential candidates, (2) review incumbent(s) voting records, and (3) report the potential candidates questioner, legislator voting record and action of the Political Action Committee to its membership. Employees of the NEA or NEA members can work for any candidate of their choice regardless of the action of the NEA. This is similar to the same procedures followed by the AMA, AHA, Farm Bureau, Lawyers, business groups and other organizations.

Those with millions or billions of dollars can make unlimited contributions to the candidate of their choice like the Koch bothers in Wisconsin, Sinquefield in Missouri and other large contributors.
