OTOH US system and to a lesser extent ours seem to act knowing they can fool most of the people most of the time with no consequence.. beyond a nice pension...primary function to get elected and stay elected :O)

The western societies are designed to redirect all violence to some other country who sports an appropriate villain. And violence (unlike white collar crime) is very strictly dealt with internally.
