Don't know about blood, but Turkey's assertiveness under Erdogan is a tectonic shift.

Turning away from seeing their future in Europe, and focusing on the Muslim world. Like the Ottomans. Not much has been heard recently about the application to join the EU, it was a burning issue until 2-3 years ago.

NICOSIA - Cyprus said on Thursday it was willing to share the benefits of any gas find with Turkish Cypriots before reaching a peace deal on the ethnically split island, in an apparent attempt to calm tensions with Turkey over Mediterranean energy reserves.
