Didn't it get down to 1.2 trillion? Which still means my math was off but that's still like 15 percent. Once again, not pocket change.

Never mind the relative value (tangible and moral) of the expenditure, the true cost is likely to be way north of 1.2T when it's all said and done...a lot of the equipment will require extensive repair and much of it will have to be left behind and/or replaced...and then there are the costs here at home repairing the lives of the soldiers who come back scarred for life. Your 25% figure was not far off...imagine what we could do here with that money and then go beat your head against the nearest concrete wall...
