Speaking of too early, when the tsunami of sellers overwhelmed my little Tonka Truck loading up JPM yesterday to stop the panic, like Mr J P Morgan did, virtuously, back in the day, it was apparent it would take more than me to save the world from itself. Sated on JPM, I'm now surveying the scene. One or two tempting thoughts cross my mind, but in general, as I look for something to put on my shopping list, there isn't a lot that looks like a bargain [meaning reasonably priced not even a bargain which would be cheaper than I think it's worth].

I tried to get myself worked up to finally buy gold, but it's just not shiny enough or dense enough or cheap enough. As you found, carting the stuff around at $1000 an ounce is hard work and would make one prone to injury. Metals in general are too hefty to be pleasantly portable. Pixels on the other hand, are the total opposite. Pixels can flitter around in mobile Cyberspace powered by CDMA/OFDM phragmented photons, hither and yon, encrypted and difficult for atavistic barbarians to get their grubby paws on them. But I'm determined, so will surely join the GLD totem toting tribe, at least on a temporary basis to see what it's like to Get Gold.

I observe that you spend more time fondling your DeVice than your gold. You don't take lumps of gold with you on your travels but you do take your CDMA/OFDM mobile Cyberspace DeVices.
