AAZ.L - you got it pretty well. Here are some additional considerations:

- Part of their concession is in Nagorno Karabakh en.wikipedia.org , which is contested territory with Armenia with Azerbaijan having no control over the territory. It is probably a pipe dream to expect a mine there, but company is open about the "occupied territories", so they are not misleading investors.
- Azerbaijan was very corrupt during Soviet times and it probably remains so. This does not preclude a viable company there, since a lot of resource rich countries are corrupt.
- AAZ has John H Sununu en.wikipedia.org on their BOD and as a significant investor. Sununu + Reza Vaziri and Khagani Bashirov hold over 50% shares. Sununu's reputation is lacking, but perhaps he's better investor than White House chief-of-staff... Sununu and Vaziri are connected through US Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce. It's not clear how Khagani Bashirov got his shares and what his connections are. There's not much info about him.
