i have perhaps another 28 tranches of puts to short on gld / slv, awful days after terrible nights by the end of the current iteration of of volatility and mayhem, and before we phase-change to the next episode of the fundamental crisis, i figure must be at just about 100% hard money and its various derivatives the usa authority by unconventional measures is driving the many to t-bills yielding effectively nothing, just as the officialdom of argentina and so many other wastrel nations had done by force of law so many times before if we forgot, the argentine road to monetary reset: - nationalization of this and that - close capital exit doors - declare bank holiday - set withdraw limits - forced conversion of foreign currency deposits into domestic money - forced loan via exchange of deemed excess domestic currency deposit into long-dated government bonds - final act of deceit: add zero to currency team usa is doing by phony market what argentina had to do by force i intend to short gld and slv puts all the way down, and if needed, take delivery i am more cautious about mining shares, because many mines would fail in a credit crisis depression unless general liquidity levels per qe3, 4, 5, 6, ... infinitum floats all. i figure to convert gld / slv gains, as when they materialize, into physical iow, no change in strategy, as none called for, especially as gold is up for the year.
