I sold half my position in AUY but will buy it back shortly. One down period does not a speculative bubble make.I do not see a speculative bubble and my strength is relative prices of one thing to another since I was 10 years old (also synthesizing data to a relatively simple model,in medicine, economics and other areas) I also rely on those better than me on gold or any other area.Listen to Jim Rickards on Kings World News. When gold hit $800 an ounce in the 80s the US gold resrves covered 110% of all govt $ denominted debt.At its current peak the figure was 17%.My guess is that TJ has done better than 99% of investors out there over the last 7 years, as have I although gold made up a much smaller part of my gains.I like opinionated people even if I disagree because I want to see if their argument has logic.Just like doctors there are few great investors. If a great investor or a great expert in a field calls something a bubble I will listen and add that to my model with the strength I feel it deserves.I am just tired of those who have little knowledge, little intellect and or little expertise who express their opinion on things they know little about.I do not have a good feel for your skills as I have followed TJ for much longer and am not gearing this at your call of a bubble or you in specific. As for me TJ has earned my respect as an investor and in intellect and in leadership and although not a follower I would charge over many a hill at the Generals command. He has told us his moves and has generally been right.I tend to be right on investment moves 50-55% of the time and have made very good money since 2004.TJ I would guess has done better.Go General!
