Yes, he did say so, on one the Welcome threads, back when he took over again. But, unless one followed the thread, one would not know. Yes, many are smart enough to figure out what happened. But I can think of a dozen who will not, and will not know how to go about accessing SI again.

Hi Smoothie, I'm so lazy that I just type in the first few letters sil and windows 7and or my browser suggests the entire site url. I was sorry to see some of the old threads being deleted.

Some of them where real time capsules of the wild and woolly 90's.
