For relaxation this weekend, I sat quietly in my reading chair and read Sarum, The Novel of England, recommended by The Black Swan. About events taking place around Salisbury Plain, site of Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral, over 9000 years or so since since last glacial maximum. Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, Celts, Saxons, Danes, Vikings, Normans, Magna Charta, etc. etc. etc. Pretty good. Not badly written, and the facts were well stated. amazon.com I was having a chest cold and decided that if I did not work this weekend, I might build up my immune system and fight off the cold. It worked. I mean, my immune system worked, while I sat quietly, and fought off the cold by not working. Re: your friend. I admire entrepreneurs. Was not born with that gift, nor that energy. Plenty of brains but I have always been a reader and an observer, not a person of action. I did read a 912 page book in one weekend, Friday night to Sunday night, which would probably baffle your friend as to why. Just as it baffles my husband that I insist on doing crossword puzzles in ink. No erasures. He finishes the same crossword puzzle faster, but I don't erase. It's a game I like to play. Get it right the first time. Careful. I don't like risks. For some, risk is its own reward. Even if they lose, they have the consolation of the endorphin rush.
