not just job savings... profits are coming from the emerging markets... without those it would/will be a very different story...

The outsourcing effect will last a few years but will fade. The local Chinese, Indian, etc. companies are working feverishly to increase their share of the profits. And the technology transfer and partnership rules ensure this happens sooner rather than later.
