GOP Staffers Meet With 'Birther Queen'

ORLY TAITZ SAYS TOP AIDES RECEPTIVE TO HER CONCERNS

(NEWSER) – Even a birth certificate can’t stop the Birther Queen. Orly Taitz, who literally made a name for herself in the heyday of Birtherism, is still pushing her message—and it seems that top GOP congressional aides are listening. She tells Justin Elliott of Salon that she headed to Washington to meet with staffers for Reps. Steve King and Allen West, and Sens. Jim Inhofe and Marco Rubio. Her case is now twofold: Not only is President Obama’s birth certificate forged, but he’s committing “clear Social Security fraud—for which anybody would be in prison.”

The “most positive” meeting was with Marco Rubio’s staffers, Taitz contends. “They read all the pleadings” and were “supportive,” she said, with one even seeking “to give me an opportunity to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee.” A spokeswoman for Rep. Allen West says his chief of staff met with Taitz, who simply “came by to drop off some material and the chief of staff was polite enough to answer her questions.” But Taitz says the aide “promised that if the issue comes along,” West would vote to expose Obama’s “fraudulent” doings. The world is finite but vast. Eliminating a particular style of light bulb will have little effect on the world one way or the other, but it reduces the freedom of Americans. Its one small step towards central planning an idea which is not only bad for human freedom, but which also tends to be very harmful for the environment and generally causes more resources to be wasted.
