The companies attending Comdex would have to have blinders on to miss the story and the possible takeover of the this company.

Pierre, in April through late May 1996 I, too, was an Amati shareholder, but I could only hold on to one story stock at a time, but I have followed Amati sporadically after selling in late May and early June. I thought that Amati entered into an agreement with Westell for $400 million, and then I stopped following. Did Westell's stock price trade too low thereafter, was there some other reason for the change, or did I receive incorrect information? Thanks in advance, Pat

Pierre,

It's likely Ancor "will be gone to a big fish" at some point in time, perhaps even as soon as next year or the year after. The same scenario for Brocade as well with venture capital now in control. VC's play for big bucks and a quick spin (and they play to win big) so I would never rule out an IPO, merger or acquistion. The prospects for Fibre Channel and Fibre Channel vendors such as Ancor appear ever brighter with each passing day and ven cappers undoubtedly smell handsome rewards. So in essence I would consider Brocades new found wealth bullish for Ancor as well.
