Edit on the previous post. I don't mean to say all 6 billion shares of volume need to be upside for the S&P 500 today to help mark a long term bottom. 90% would do. Again a lot to ask.

Unless we get that I am planning on shorting something again if the VIX falls to around 32.25. That would put it 10% below its 10 day sma. I'll use KLIC as an example here but you could substitute just about any stock we discuss here for short term trading. Go long when the VIX is 10%, or more, above its 10 day sma. Go short when it is 10%, or more, below its 10 day sma.

This is a very simplistic way to make some money in a highly volatile market. Of course I follow a lot of other indicators but with this much change in volatility week to week this is the best indicator for short term trading right now.
