When someone executes a task professionally, he is called a professional name.

When someone executes a task not for professional gain, he is not called that professional name.

Someone who makes a table and a few chairs is not carpenter. It is a hobbyst.

When I cut my feet nails I am not a pedicure. I am not doing it professionally.

That goes for all things people do inside their house, things that's been done even when professions did not exist.

When the barber wakes up in the morning and shave himself he is not a barber. He is Joe shaving himself before going to work as a barber.
