Ted Williams, in 1941, had his .400 average locked in and on the last day of the season, was asked if he wanted to sit out. Williams said the recognition doesn't mean anything if you don't play it out. He demanded to play that day and he played in both games of the doubleheader. He went 6 for 8. That's a man!

I have lost respect for Reyes and the Mets for allowing it.
