I actually built a 10 acre pond on our ranch in Idaho way back in the 70s and experimented with that idea over the next 20 years. We started with trout but evolved to bass, assorted sunfish, frogs, rice, crawdads, etc and achieved a fairly stable aqua system. More than anything it was a great place to retreat to watch and teach my kids something all the outdoor school bullshit the public schools indoctrinate would never consider in today's pc world. Did I mention they are both excellent marksmen? -g-
