I think it's like believing that what has transpired for most of history, and for the past ten years in the US, didn't happen and won't continue to happen. Historically speaking, the change comes when it's rammed down the throats of those who cause the problem; those that caused the problem do not get religion and solve the problem. Since the political arena has shifted more, not less, overtly towards serving the elite in every time frame you can name since I've been alive, esp. the last ten years, it just ain't gonna happen on it's own.
