We went to europe recently. We had to pay taxes on clothes.

NH is not representative of US. It is a very homogenous society with very few people (1.3M). Your avg income is $49K/family - that is really good! Most people won't need state aid in such circumstance. Having said that, you guys have taxes - NH has a property tax. The state does have narrower taxes on meals, lodging, vehicles, business and investment income - 5% on dividends and interest!, and tolls on state roads.

If things are so good in NH, I don't know why people are not pouring in from outside...
