have you ever read the Principia?? I disagree that it was easy for folks to get the ideas of Newton or Maxwell -- in those times -- people did, though, why? They were able to read more than a sound bite -- Of course, it is easier to get the ideas now after many have digested and thought about them and written so much to make them accesible. the same is true of modern physics.
