In VVV ethos, a 2 year marriage was not the norm. But they are now pandemic. <Around half of Mexico City marriages end in divorce, usually in the first two years. > I don't know the NZ rate but it can't be much better. A 2 year marriage is more lengthy than the Islamic "For the weekend" so-called "marriage" which gets around the objections to prostitution al-islam.org [in form, if not substance, and possibly not fooling Allah or God] but it's a small portion of a person's 70 year life span. Why not make it for 8 weeks [so that two month's rent would cover the deal], with rights of renewal, like a building lease agreement.
