You are not buying thinking a long term bottom will be put in anytime soon?

No, not really. I have been remodeling the long term stock portfolio, more than anything. I'll be the first to admit I have no idea where a bottom may be found. All I'm doing is moving money out of stocks I don't want to own into ones that I do. I plan on holding onto most of these into 2013, if not a lot longer but each one will be reviewed on a quarterly basis to see if my views have changed. I will be pulling out of a lot of the stocks I've owned for the past few years. Since so many have tanked, I am slowly moving out of them. When a rebound occurs, the rising tide will lift most boats. I think the ones I am buying now will perform better once the trend finds a reversal.

I'm not as negative as most people I read and hear. I understand their concerns and appreciate their caution. I see this as just another pendulum swing. At some point it will reverse....

My view is that we will see a bottom, most likely in the next 2 months but I won't be surprised if it doesn't happen until the middle of next year.

Actually, I think a lot of the problem here in America is that racism is alive and well. Many of those who thought we were moving towards a more civil society are beginning to realize that racism is much more imbedded into the general population. It just gets painted differently than in the past. Here's a prime example: (it cracks me up to no end how much we keep hearing about) "how hard the rich have had it for so many years". What a F'n joke. I am no longer employed (EDIT my own choice to semi-retire/take a sabatical) but I used to pay more taxes than 99% of the population. Did I like it, hell no but I never deluded myself into thinking that somehow I had it bad or rough because I had to pay them..... You make big money, you pay big taxes. So what, stop crying....its much better then not having a job or not finding work in your field and having to waste your time in a job/career that never allows you to use your talent.....Anyway, I will refrain from adding anything more, as I know this is not the forum for such talk.

One sign of a climax is running out of sellers. One form of TA for ST trades ( like weeks and months) says look for a lower close on lower volume to show seller exhaustion. Got that part today

I did a little nibble of the stock I've been trading. It was SIGNIFICANTLY above where I bought twice recently.... and my buyback today was where I took profits on the first shares bought... this COULD be bullish... but it is one of the very few, thin threads to hang on.

Some of my other stocks in the Semi area and elsewhere were hammered today. Altera under $30????
