It was smart of me to say that I'm proposing "more or less" charity, since I did have in mind a minimalist welfare style healthcare safety net run by the government. Sorry for not being a purist... (g). But, well, if it can be structured as straight charity, that's fine with me too. Solutions must be realistic... we do pay for healthcare of those who cannot pay, and we will continue to do so. It's merely a question of changing towards a sustainable path. What we are doing now is ruinous, and the government loves that, since it gives them an opportunity to come up with more bs.
