Not exactly.

I didn't say it was a great tax; but it works.

For most of that time, it was BS. But medical costs have exploded and tax revenues have declined. Still, SS is fine for at least 25 years, and it was much longer than that until the downturn.

Once again, maybe in the long term, but they are not responsible for any of our exisitng debt.
