Honestly, I feel sorry for the Germans. It's like they are the only adults in a continent full of children. They worked hard, saved, produced goods the world wanted, and managed their economy astutely and prudently. Then they are betrayed by their own leaders and forced to hand over their wealth to the profligate Greeks who never saw a handout that they didn't like. It's a travesty of monumental proportions. And to pour salt into the wound, the fact that Greece is getting bailed out and is still a part of the EU is actually ILLEGAL. It violates the terms of the EU founding agreement. Greece should have been kicked out of the EU and the Euro long ago, if the legal framework was adhered to.

But this is just another example of how Europe, as well as the US, has abandoned law and order when the going got tough. Instead, they've resorted to dictatorial and communist measures that have amounted to croneyism and kleptocracy. Wealth is being transferred from the 99% to the 1% and from the responsible savers to the gamblers and risk takers. It's the height of injustice. The Western Democratic world is crumbling before our eyes.

It's no accident that Putin is now talking about a Eurasian Union. He's watching what is happening in the West and believes it's a lot like how Russia operates. He's not wrong. Oligarchy and kleptocracy. That's where we're headed. Putin is getting the last laugh.
