Obama faced a great depression, no doubt, but he could have asked for help from Stiglitz, Krugman and Volker (not under summers thumb). They knew what needed to be done and if not they could have quickly figured it out. They are shit ass smart and ethical.

And after he had stability especially. Summers and Geithner were bad choices.

Stiglitz Krugman, volker, and Roemer and Goolsby (unfettereed) would have insisted on reforming the banking system and that is what is needed. Even today, I saw Bernanke dismiss the too big to fail banking problem. 5 banks have over 90% of the banking business in America.

Bush appointed Bernanke.

The banks need to be split up and especially Goldman Sachs. The banks spent 1.3 billion lobbying congress last year and prevented Elizabeth Warren from being confirmed to the head of the regulatory agency.

"How does he explain to voters that he made the right choice"

He doesn't. He needs to subvert his ego and admit he blew it.

Obama spent the political capital he'd accumulated being elected following the worst president in modern history by passing a corporate-friendly version of national health care that was basically a Republican plan, while having both houses of congress. It was a tremendous mistake. Obviously, an agenda cooked up BEFORE the global economic collapse, that should have been round-filed.

He should have been on JOBS from day 1, and nothing but JOBS since.
