I was thinking a lot more short term at the same time -- I sold XLF puts a little before 1/2 hour to go today when XLF was about 11.2X

I agree with what you show on the chart...the beginning of a W bottom at the trendline support line drawn. I have said a big dump on S&P is premature because we never got the BIG right shoulder...have to loook at a chart looking out to early 2009 to see it....that will be THE top.

So it looks like we are getting the SOx chart bounce - I suspect it will be a healthy one - enough to scare the bears and to get the public back in. But given the negative slope of the red line, I also suspect the bear roars again - by late spring or sooner.
