well ---- we can all look at the charts and see that the trend has been DOWN....

but that has nothing to do with PGs statement that we cannot be at the lows due to specific indicators in the VIX.

again --- let me make myself clear -- I HAVE NO CLUE AS TO WHETHER OR NOT WE HIT THE LOW FOR THIS CURRENT DOWNDRAFT. i know we hit A low.

so pray tell why would someone who relies on charts not take a longer view and incorporate both the near term charts with long term charts?

EXAMPLE : below is a monthly chart of the $SPX over 25 years.
my read on this is that unless we have a repeat of events on the order and magnitude of Lehman collapse, AIG falure, etc ..... we could have hit the low.

one thing is certain -----> bearish sentiment on SI has been about as high as i have ever seen it in years.
