Where's Axelrod and Ploufe? How could they run that excellent campaign in 2008 and govern like this? The operative word being "campaign". Obama never got a mandate for any particular program of governance. "Hope and Change," is that a platform? He campaigned as blank projector screen -- as a leftist to the progressives, as "not Bush" to the liberals, as a post-partisan moderate to the independents, as The One to black America, as the end of white guilt to white America. It worked great. There's just one teensy problem with trying to do it twice -- you can't pull it off if you've got a record. Even a good record. And Obama doesn't have a good record.
