Weed is outlawed in many places. US, some states West,
in particular, is not among them. You can easily get a death
sentence for weed in SE Asia. It's illegal in the US,
but in some states boundary legal in small quantities.

However, US seemed to be unique when it came to
getting gold outlawed, a constitutional form of money.
That said, I find it interesting that "War on drugs"
and decoupling of the dollar from gold happened the
same year. Ban on gold ownership was lifted in 1974,
and it's not coming back -g-

Coke had traces of cocaine before 1929, it was
a very refreshing drink. The original Coke formula had
lots of it. -vbg- The attitude was different back then?
