'I am glad that Obama didn't wind them down faster. Forget the logistics of winding down wars too quickly........the faster he would have gone, the more people who would have been unemployed or underemployed. At least for a couple of years, army families were receiving an income and having a roof over their heads.' Think of what the pullback did the last time defense contractors retrenched in SoCal in the early 1990's and magnify that impact by an unquantified multiple maybe 20-50 fold impacting many other markets.. For instance DC and Seattle were sort of spared compared to our housing induced depression in many other areas and will take a bigger hit than FL when huge defense cuts are made.. Part of the grand plan is don't take all the hits at one time..
