Some would question whether it is fair.

Should the contractor charge his normal hourly wage when picking up supplies for his client's job? Should he reduce his rate when running errands for his client or not charge his client at all? I know people wrestle with this question.

The bottom line is the contractor is trying to reduce his own costs and increase his profit by buying the product cheaper, and he is also not willing to give his time away when running for supplies.
