Re OWS, remember in he 60's we always had the crazies that went too far. And the MSM would always highlight them e.g. the chicago 7 or SDS. But the thesis of the movement that you and I understood was the simple sophistication of new realizations.

That is the reason UC Berkely was the head quarters. Those kids were on the forefront of understanding a new way of existing.

I used to explain to people, there were two populations of hippies. Those who had the guts and insight to reject a stultified society of myth and script, with all its bigoted ideas, racism, sexism and all the other isms' and those who society rejected and were just sort of hangers on.

This new OWS may fill the void left by the destruction of unions by the neo cons.

And yes, I want to Obama start to channel FDR.

>>The lack of a clear message has never bothered me, any more than the lack of a clear message in the early days of the tea party bothered conservatives.<<

The lack of a clear message from OWS does bother me, as it bothered me about the Tea Party.

Obviously, I have more sympathy for OWS, but I'm still not ready to get out and man the barricades, and I won't be until they can say what they hell they want.
