I am sure there are some folks who use it to get a degree that will allow them to pay it back. But most don't. It's crazy imo. Millions of people starting out life with big debts, taking them years to pay off. I have a doctor brother in law that has been out of school years and still owes an ungodly amount of student loan debt. He borrowed big, lived high while going to school, has lived high ever since, piling up more debt ... I can't fathom it.
