I serious doubt we'll see SP 905 again, but who knows... I believe filling gaps is a self fulfilling prophesy, and not ALL gaps are ALWAYS filled... there are exhaustion gaps and breakaway gaps that never get filled...

Your point about psychology and gaps has raised a question in my mind: why do gaps need to be filled from a psychological perspective? If most of the market action is based on fear and greed, what the heck difference do gaps make to the emotional investor?

The only thought I have is that in a dropping market, a gap might represent some pool of investor demand that could soak up selling, but I personally have never felt that as a motivation to buy...
