It is really sad to see the country in this mess. I think the depth of it says something about how we got here, though -- it isn't Obama, it isn't Bush -- it goes way, way back. IMO, to the 30s. I agree. It has been an 80 year old slide to the nanny state. A steeper slide under the Democrats. Much more gradual under the Republicans. Obama's extreme policies has woken people up though. Brought things to a head much sooner. But......only abrupt policy shifts on so many fronts can really save us. I think Gingrich could do it. Certainly knows what needs to be done. But.....can he get elected? And will Republicans win enough senate seats to get things done? Doubtful.
