Yes, but...

1. it is still October which has a history of ending with SPX at a low

2. PMs have been rising and falling with SPX

3. SPX ended the day exactly at resistance

4. GDX is just below resistance

5. Typically there is a re-test of the lows with the possible exception of an inverse H&S which would still provide an opportunity to buy the right shoulder.

When I am uncertain in a situation like this, I will often sell half (in effect that's what I have done with puts) to guarantee that I will be at least half right.

Ultimately each of us must do what makes sense and feels comfortable. What makes sense and feels comfortable to me now is much different than it was 12 years ago. My current approach is not for everyone. Ultimately gold, silver, and related investments will all go to the moon and the current volatility (nothing new in this sector) will seem of little consequence.
