to be honest, very few, if any of them are philosophical, or have a critical inquiring mind.

The Red Sox top prospect, rookie catcher Ryan Lavarnway, graduated from Yale with a degree in philosophy.

I really regret how the singing of God Bless America stuck in baseball. I think the Mariners only do it on Sundays now -- perhaps the entire league is that way. I didn't mind, however, when my brother-in-law sung the anthem & GBA for the Mariners. He also did the anthem for the Seahawks, and my wife and I got to be on the field at that time. That's when I realized how glad I was that my former dream to be a NFL player never went anywhere... those guys are HUGE.
