The real damage is the propaganda apparatus. Fox News is the most obvious. Rupert Murdoch is a bit of mystery. I don't get exactly his psyche but the people he hires Roger Ailes and the people at the WSJ (editorial board) know exactly what they are doing. It is brain washing on a large and crude level. But the real powerful interests are represented by those "think tanks" (AEI, Cato Institute, Heritage Foundation, etc) and their collateral "literary handouts" (National Review, Weekly Standard etc). None of these organizations have visible means of financial support). The Murdoch operation is crude and obvious. They effectively dole out stipends to thousands of little mercenaries. But, Murdoch is a mystery. He is able to do this crude bs from a successful financial enterprise.
