I admire a lot of authors. I quoted today a passage from John Maynard Keynes that I have always admired. But I am not a Keynsian.

The very idea of needing "permission" from Rand to have my own ideas is risible. I am also not a Randian.

I think Ron Paul has a lot of good ideas, but he is frequently batty.

I have always admired Milton Friedman and Benjamin Bernanke. Both of whom advocated, at the same time, free trade and central banks.

I believe in private ownership of property, but also the value of commons. I believe in keeping your word, which includes contracts, but also in the right to file bankruptcy, as a last resort.

I believe in getting through the minute, the hour, and the day intact, as best as we can, and living to fight another day.

If you can find some consistency in my beliefs, you're doing better than I can. The ideals I never waver from are democracy, free speech, free trade, free exchange of ideas, and the US Constitution.
