Meth is every bit as bad as the NG video (IMVHO). I have seen it destroy several lives (and even more teeth!). My wife's cousin was a 20 year meth addict (sober for three years now). I can't tell you how many times the family holiday gatherings turned into fights with me and my brother in law having to throw him out. After his last stint in jail he got clean. They also gave him free dental care and he has a brand new set of teeth, both upper and lower. But as far as it being a good topic for a TV show. Hey, I don't like murder or war and those make for some of the best premises for entertainment. If you watched the show you would understand how the setup is perfect for creating inner conflict. It shows the descent of a good man with good intentions into a world of evil. It shows how these good intentions turn everything in his and his family's life to crap. Trust me, the show doesn't glamourize drugs at all. Far from it.

I saw one episode, the last one, because someone recommended it. I thought it was hyperemotional and generally pretty bad. It's one of those shows where you must first be converted into a believer and induced into a state of trance. Yes, it is true that I saw it sort of out of context, but you know what? Most of the time you can tell if a book is well written by reading just one chapter. Sorry to those who enjoy it, don't allow this to stop you.... :)
