Garand M-1 rifles I happened to catch a couple of military funerals on TV over the weekend. The sound of the shots from the 223 M-16s is pathetic compared to the 30.06 sounds of the M1.

River Dance With Boots And Rifles… The Gibraltar guys are excellent. Our own 3rd US Infantry Regiment Honor Guard and the US Army Drill Team that do the ceremonies in Washington DC and Arlington National Cemetery are as good as or better than any in the world. A General once said words similar to these, give me 2 armies, the first for show and parades, the second a little less disciplined and a lot more savvy in the hinterlands. The second is the army I wish to fight with.
