They are willing to expend energy and be very uncomfortable in the interest of unselfish ideals.

I would expect the high unemployment rate to continue to provide new participants.

Posters like Skeeter Bug have been literally screaming on these boards for years for people to stand up and do something.

Now a few people are. In the United States, that is extremely rare. When I was a kid, there were civil rights protests, and then anti-Vietnam protests. Between then and now, a span of about 40 years, nearly nothing.

From my perspective, our country will fracture if we don't change course.

These people want us to change course, and they are standing up for it. That's what I admire.

I think it will be worse for my kids if they do *not* succeed. Unfortunately, history is against them. Generally, social erosion and degradation and polarization reaches a point of mass ruination followed by revolution, and who knows what the heck will come out of that endgame. Military dictatorship, loss of property rights, social chaos, wealthy destruction, social collapse, mass starvation, 2nd world status, 3rd world status?

Historically, when a severe stratification of wealth has occurred, the denial in the ruling elite prevents them from being afraid. But it is nearly always a fatal mistake for their generation or the next. It's not if, but when the denial will be shattered.

I disagree with your employment comment. High employment is exactly what it helping people to wake up to the new reality in America which has prevailed (and escalated) for the past couple of decades. This hasn't happened overnight.
