Personally, I think the half of Americans who pay ZERO, or even get refundable credits after paying nothing in, don't pay enough.

Correlation doesn't imply causation. I would think you'd know that. The mathematical relationships between tax rates and deficits are immensely complex. You can't just compare tax rates with, for example, revenue, and draw any conclusion at all.

You're just as shallow as the media on this subject, apparently.

Spending increases account for over 100% of our deficit. If spending had staid the same as it was before Bush and Obama than we wouldn't have a deficit now.

Most of the increase in spending was social spending, particularly entitlement spending.
